What people say

First a bit more about me… my own roles have included Chief Executive of World Vision UK; Group Chief Executive of Shaftesbury Housing and Care; National Director of World Vision in Israel and Palestine; Chief Executive of the Primary Trauma Care Foundation, an organisation that trains health professionals in more than 80 countries; and, of course, Director of Oxford Leaders Ltd.

Alongside this, I commit part of my time to mentoring people with similar responsibilities. I am always learning and enjoy supporting others in the unique challenge of leading today’s organisations.

I live in Oxford, UK.  In 2010 I launched the consultancy Oxford Leaders Ltd which serves national and international NGOs. It works by professional coaching and mentoring and has helped many leaders to make significant steps in their own development.

So what do other people say?

I don’t publish the names of the people or organisations that I support, so that we can work together without feeling like we are in a goldfish bowl. But here are some of the comments I have received:

From the leader of a UK-based global organisation: “Working with Charles was a truly life-changing experience and I don’t say that lightly. His constant encouragement, sincerity, wisdom, experience and commitment moved me to undertake leadership in a way I never dared imagine I could.”

From the leader of a charity in the Middle East: “With your help we were able to do the best things we ever did in the history of our organisation.”

From the leader of a medical charity in Africa: “Our interaction has left me inspired and encouraged in this tough environment. I appreciated the perceptive wisdom you shared in conversations and actions.
Good mentors in leadership are few in our world and I am honored to have known you.”

From a charity leader in the USA: “You taught me high standards and how to keep the ship sailing on course during adversity. You modeled what a leader should expect from his colleagues: high values, heart, and ethical consistency.”

From the leader of an NGO in Asia: “Everything was excellent and relevant. It was exactly what I needed.”
